Make Direct Impact

Advocacy Week (including Advocacy Day) is a flagship event led by the Pennsylvania Educator Diversity Consortium (PEDC), often co-hosted with partner organizations—like PaCASE and PAC-TE in 2025—to amplify our collective voice. This weeklong initiative provides a platform to connect with legislators and urge them to prioritize the funding needed for the recruitment, preparation, and retention of high-quality, diverse educators in Pennsylvania.

PEDC hosted our 2025 Advocacy Week from April 7 to April 11, with an in-person Advocacy Day that drew over one hundred participants at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg. Each year, our date is scheduled to coordinate with the PA Legislative Session spring calendar when most legislative session days are scheduled and the majority of legislative activity occurs. Details for next year’s date and details will be provided as they are confirmed.

During Advocacy Week, you’ll have the chance to make a direct impact by sharing your voice experiences, and priorities with Pennsylvania's General Assembly. As part of a collective effort, your advocacy will help ensure that policies and critical financial resources are allocated through the state budget to support our educators and strengthen the future of education in Pennsylvania.

Schedule & Attend Meetings in the State Capitol

Throughout the week, you’ll have the flexibility to meet with your legislators either virtually or in your hometown, making it easy to participate no matter where you are.

Receive Key Materials & Talking Points

In addition to individual meetings with legislators, participants may be invited to join meetings with groups such as the Education Committee and the Black Caucus.
