We use the Collective Impact framework to guide our efforts. This approach helps us coordinate our work and measure our progress. Our strategy includes the following key pillars:
We work with our community to create a common vision for a diverse educator workforce.
We use data to track our progress and identify areas for improvement.
We offer trainings, host events, and advocate for policies that support our goals.
We keep our community informed through meetings, newsletters, and open discussions.
PEDC provides leadership and resources to help our network succeed.
Whether you’re looking to learn more about our initiatives, need assistance, or just want to connect—let's talk. Your questions and feedback are important to us, and we’re eager to hear from you!
Our goal is to create supportive and welcoming environments in schools. We provide tools, policies, and training to help schools attract, support, and keep educators of color. We believe that when schools have these resources, more educators of color will join and stay in the profession.
We focus on creating spaces where innovation can thrive. Our regional projects allow us to test new approaches in education. Whether it's developing culturally relevant curricula or supporting educator wellness, we use these projects to learn and improve.
We believe that lasting change comes from within the community. By involving educators, students, families, and community leaders, we create solutions that reflect the unique needs and strengths of each area.
Teaching can be emotionally challenging, especially in underserved communities. Educators often carry the emotional weight of their students' experiences, leading to stress, burnout, and feelings of isolation. It's important to recognize that grief isn't limited to personal loss; it can also arise from witnessing students' hardships or dealing with ongoing challenges in the education system. That's why we prioritize the well-being of educators. Through wellness programs, peer support groups, and access to mental health resources, we strive to build a resilient educator workforce ready to face today's educational challenges.
